I have traded for a coupe that has cobra brakes on it. Well i have tried to put 18x9 steeda ultra light wheels on it, but on the front they are sticking out to far. I measured them and with the cobra brakes they are a 1/2 inch wider on each side. Is there anything I can do to get it back to factory specs without changing the brakes. Thanks

The different year spindles are what causes them to stick out. 96+ spindles stick the wheels out 1/4" more than the 94-95 spindles.
Not a lot of difference but every little bit counts on that.
Here's a pic of how to tell which ones you have.

I think it may have 01 cobra brakes and spindles. Do u know if there is any differnce between the 96-98 and the 99 or 01 cobra spindles. That may be my differnce. Im going to find me some 94-95. Thanks

No problem at all. I'm pretty sure the 96-04 spindles are the same. There should be a part # on the spindle somewhere that'll start like "F6_ _ _ _ _" etc. F stands for 90's and the 6 would stand for the 6th year so a 96' parrt number. If they were 94-95 spindles they'd have "F4 or F5" etc...

the control arms are different lengths too... we used to use the arms from a 96 up on our asphalt circle track cars on the pass side to get more camber..... they are a good bit longer moving the spindle out too

True if someone for some reason swap the arms too instead of just the spindles.
