i bought a full set of 16 inch 5 lug pony's at charlotte over the weekend. i bought these to use as track wheels. im looking to buy dr's for the rears and i cant decide on which size. im thinking 275/50's or 275/60's. i want the beefy looking fat tire for the rear with a tall sidewall, so which size do you think i should buy? also which dr? im thinking this one:

255/50/16 M/T drag radials if you're wanting to stay with 26" tall tires.

Kinda limited on 16" drag radials. I've found two sizes:
BFG 255/50/16 - 26.1" tall and 10.3" section width on 8" wide wheel.
M&H 275/55/16 - 28" tall and 10.9" section width on 9" wide wheel.

I think he was asking about Drag Radials
But if he's just looking for a soft tire, that's certainly going to fill the wheel well.

I ran those tires back in 1993 (before DR's were around) on my 93 Z28 with 16x8 wheels without any issues. Know a few others running the same tire on a 8" rim.
Use to drive every where on them. Use to drive from S. FL to Orlando or Gainesville and Bradenton all the time, then run the car at the track, then drive home on them.

No pics but that's what I ran back when my vert was 4 lug with pony wheels.
Worked out well.

I know I'm late to the party - just came back to this thread. I've got a set of four 255/50-16 BFG Comp T/A ZR on her in this pic. Those tires aren't made anymore, but they are the same size you were asking about for the rear.
