What is this tranny worth?

I'm looking at an auto for my 83, the one in it is a piece. This is a C6(I guess, maybe its a C4?) built by "cooks" somewhere in SC? It has a thousand miles on it. I can get it for three hundred flex plate, convertor and all. Is that a good buy?

Deff get a C4 or AOD. C6's are gutless wonders!!! I know a lot of people like them, but not me, unless its a diesel! We swapped a stock C4 into my buddies big block car in place of a stock C6 and picked up 75hp to the wheels!!! The C6 just has too big parts for its own good. Too much rotating mass and parisitic power loss.
