Ok...I had an issue with my fuel pump not getting and power. I have resolved that issue...now on to something that has me baffled. The fuel pump is puming...fuel is in the lines...pressure in the fuel rails...Im getting fire (ie. spark) but yet she wont hit?!?!?! All relays have been replaced....distributor is good (even the module)The car ran a few days ago with the old fuel that was in the lines. This was before I replaced the fuel pump....since then...NOTHING! Please help

What year car?

If its a SD car, check the BAP sensor,It is located on the firewall behind the intake....This is what controls the injectors (fires them) .....May be that you have all the elements but the injectors are not working......As far as this having the same function on a Mass Air car I dont know.....I have only seen one of these go bad.....Just all of a sudden and then the car wouldn't crank

This is a 1987 GT but it has a 90 motor which really isnt any different. I meant to add that in my rambling... I agree,it seems as is the injectors are not spraying. I did put a test light on 2 of the injectors while my son turned her over and they were getting fire. Now whether or not they were spraying is another story. Thanks for the input bud :)

Get a noid light. Cheap and good to have. Remove the wiring from one injector and install the noid light in its place and then turn it over, if it flashes then the injectors are firing. 87 car, is it still SD??? Make sure it has spark at the plugs, good spark, nice and blue not crappy yellow spark. Make sure you have GOOD fuel pressure 35-40 cranking. If it ran it SHOULD have good compression, Unplug the map sensor and see it it runs. Let us know what you find.

Just an update...got the noid testers (pretty cool tool I think)...when plugged in and the motor being turned over the noid did NOT light up. The MAP was working also. This is what I am thinking....for some reason I am losing ground somewhere. If you put a test light on any of the injectors the injector shows power, if you remove the ground (test light) the injector gets no power. For some reason or another Im missing an important ground somewhere. I made sure that the ground from the block to the firewall was tight. Im kinda at a point where I want to pull what hair I have left on my head...OUT! This is whats really confusing me...when I switched the motor out (old motor had a broke crank) and put the new motor in, I fired the car first time. The car was running off the old gas that was in the lines already. The injectors had to have worked at that time. I did nothing frmo that time but put a new fuel pump in and since then I cant get fire to the injectors.Does anyone know of anymore grounds that I could possibly be over looking? Was going to try to bring both of my fox bodies to the Toys 4 Tots this weekend but it doesnt seem thats gonna happen. Well 1 fox is better than NO fox I guess. I want to thank the 2 guys who have put input in...I really appreciate the help and hope I can be of some help to you 2 in the future!

make sure that all of the grounds are on the block...there should be one at the back of the heads....Has the Battery been moved?

The only ground that I saw wwas the ground strap from the back of the block to the firewall. I made sure it was tight. The battery hasnt been moved. :patriot:

You have power to the injectors via the red wire while cranking??? If so the ground control for the injectors is the PCM, it pulses ground to fire the injectors, power is constant and the ground application open the injector. Check the connectors at the rear of the intake, injector harness to computer harness for chafing, etc. If you find nothing try disconnecting the battery for 5-10 min, reconnect and try to restart. Have you pulled codes yet??

No I havent pulled any codes yet. I am actually heading out to fiddle with it some more now. I already killed one battery pretty much. I did disconnect the battery lastnight before I left hoping that maybe that will reset the computer. Ill give an update later on. Thanks Guys~!

Ok I finally got the dang thing running! I did pour a bottle of sea foam in the tank so its smoking up houses 2 blocks away Im sure. Still has old gas in it and a couple of vaccum hoses missing which will be replaced tomorrow. Now this is the first time Ive tried to move the car and for some reason the tranny is acting up. Kinda acts like it has no fluid in it...ya know sits there and does nothing until ya rev it up a little then it seems to catch enough to pull it along (kinda). Im hoping its just from it sitting there for soooooooooooo long. I did have to add some tranny fluid....hoping it clears up. Anyone got any advice on this? Im not a tranny guy...so Im clueless.

Like Silver91Hatch said, I would check the "salt & pepper" connectors at the back of the engine. Unplug them use a little di-electric spray on them and re-connect. Had something like this happen with one of ours before.

On the subject of the tranny. Check fluid level and condition. If all looks good, then something isn't good inside. Pull the pan down, check/replace the filter, check for debris!! If it won't pull until you rev it, its losing line pressure. Does it do it in all gears, R, D, 2, 1??? If it does its probally either air in the line(your best bet) or the pump is weak and old gaskets and seals are leaking and losing pressure, it probally won't be long for this world. If its only D or R then you have a piston seal leaking and you will need a rebuild anyways.

Also on a side note. Disconnect the fuel pressure line to the fuel rail and get someone to cycle the key on and off until you get clean fuel. Then change the fuel filter and retest the running condition. Either cap off the vacuum lines or hook them up, they are not helping the sitution at all.

Silver you rock man...always good to have someone with your kind of know how in your corner. Im going to check the filter tomorrow. It seems to do it in every gear and it has sat for a VERY long time.Im hoping it is something simple...Ive still got some gremlins but hey its running which is a part of the battle. Thanks for the support and info bud, your a lifesaver!:thumbsup1:

If the tranny has set for a long time, and I don't mean the one on the street corner, then the seals on the inside have gotten hard and brittle( I guess thats the case with both trannies but thats another section), I would say for 99% certianty it will need/gonna have to have a rebuild. You might get lucky with some TransX addiative but its a long shot. But don't use anything else other that TransX I have had it bring some back from the dead and some there is no hope for, but its a crap-shoot.

I'm thinking the tranny issue sounds like a misadjusted throttle valve cable from the engine switch out. You need to have that set properly. You can toast an AOD in as little s a couple miles driving it with a T/V cable not hooked up/not functioning properly...
