ok guys, been trying to work something out to get mac pro dumps because the back right fender keeps hitting my hanger(due to damage and it aint moving!!!) well this car is going to the scrap yard but while i switch, i still want to drive! :nanarock:
so it hit me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! take my reciprocating saw with metal blade and cut right after the muffler :thumbsup1:
what i need from yall is to know if i need to put turn-down ends on or can i just leave...... oh, almost forgot, IS IT SAFE!!! :lol1:

Needs turn downs. From what I heard it will mess the rear end up if you dont, but not %100 sure about that

Hope it don't need turndowns... cause I don't have any, lol. I don't see how hot air would hurt the rear end... unless you backfire into the gas tank... that might hurt. lol
seriously though if some one knows why it's bad for the car then speak up!

the hot exhaust blowing on the rearend will get it hotter than it would normally be and the exhaust soot coats the bottom of the car kinda makes a mess

I have had multiple cars (including the GT i have now) with exhaust cut off right after muffler. Never caused any problems for me.

it might cause the fluid to break down faster. just change your diff fluid every 15k or so and you should be fine.

It certainly helped mine out a good bit. Sounds pretty good now, not perfect but it fits till I have the money to redo the exhaust, which will be a while. lol
as to the soot making the under side dirty... well I'm not the kind of guy who lays out mirrors at car shows so thats cool. heating the diff fluid I could see making it break down faster, that seems like a legit concern.

the only thing i heard is that if it blows out on the axle it will detieriate brake fluid due to heat on the cross over lines on the rear. mine isnt turned down but is about a foot away from the axle, no issues yet

I run mine cut off after the muffler. never had a problem with it and like the sound difference. but planning on putting turn downs on to keep that black crap from covering the bottom of my car.

this is true about the hot exhaust heating the rear end up,but it's MORE crucial if your running race fuel cause it burns hotter fumes/gases than pump gas.get turndowns though it'll be alot better and the fumes aren't as bad inside the car for some reason.those small bits of pipe do make a difference.:thumbsup1:

you might have just become one of my best friends! lol,
I actually have access to most everything I would need. Eventually I want to replace everything behind the headers, new h-pipe, new flow tubes, new mufflers, and at that point possibly new tail pipes as well (depends on what mufflers I go with) I've got a few leaks where the P/O took out the cats and some of the connections are showing the signs of age. it's a side note to other things though and for now it works.
