Just wanted to give a shoutout to everyone that was at Greer last night! It was nice seeing some old familiar faces and having a chance to try out the new surface! It's a whole lot better than before I will say that much!
Sorry if I didn't have a chance to speak at you. It was indeed a crazy night with so many people and cars out there!! I have never seen that place so busy.. LOL

Enjoyed seeing everybody as well last night! Track was hooking pretty good with the new surface. I had to work crew for 2 cars and didn't get to watch anything run, but seems everybody was having a pretty good night. We were trying radials on both cars last night, trying to figure the darn things out!! I'm off duty tonight gonna play with my baby at Shoals. :pROBIN

Yea i remember now why i hate that place. Maybe Commerce will be a little more my speed tonight. I didnt get a chance to walk out on the track to see how sticky the surface was, but i have a feeling it's not going to get real good till they have some big boys come do some huge burnouts.

How strict is the Greer track in regards to rules?
Stable

it is a IHRA track, but the only thing that they will ever look at is roll bar

Gotcha. What exactly is the requirement for a bar on a 1/8th track?

Found this on Union County's site, and they are IHRA also so it should be the same:
Safety: All race cars with a trunk mounted battery must have a labeled power shut off switch at rear of car. Neutral safety switch required. All entries running 6.99 or quicker must have aftermarket axles and axle retaining device, SFI approved balancer, SFI flexplate and transmission shield. Six point roll bar and single layer fire jacket required for entries running 7.49 or quicker. Full roll cage with "halo" bar mandatory on entries running 6.49 or quicker. A 3.2A-5 jacket is required on entries running 6.49 or quicker. A 3.2A-5 jacket, pants, and neck collar required on entries running 5.99 or quicker. Gloves should be worn by all drivers running 5.49 or quicker. Arm restraints and gloves are mandatory on any open bodied entry. Refer to the IHRA rulebook under Sportsman Safety and General Rules for more details.

Hmmm....will they still let you run for the day if you're quicker than 7.49 without a bar? ;)

I think it just depends on the night, My buddy went a 7.43 thursday and nothing was said, but that is somewhat close to a 49. If run a bottom 7 or faster they start looking hard
