So I finally decided to tackle putting the new ignition switch in my 83 since I lost the keys somewhere between the saturday before mustang week and the time I got back. I got the plastic piece on the column all took apart, which BTW was a pain for someone my size with no tilt wheel to get under there! I was trying to find something to punch the little button on the switch with to get it out when I got to thinking, boy wouldn't it be great if these new keys would fit the old switch? So just for the hell of it I tried to stick one in, and..... perfect fit, went right in. So Im thinking okay its in but it won't turn the switch, but hey whatta ya know it works perfect just like it was the original! Its a little sticky coming out but I aint complaining!! I just wish I would have tried it months ago!!

I bought my 91 hatch with no keys and the guy I OUTBID brought me a 5 gallon bucket of Ford keys and told me if I find on to fit it I could have it for $20(Locksmith wanted $100). The second key I tried started it.
