Ok coming down the road all of a sudden there is a loud bang and my car wouldn't go back into gear [manual] There sounds like a grinding noise. I'm assuming it's the tranny but just wanted to be sure.

If you try and put it into gear with the car off and then start it, what happens?

With the car off can you shift into all gears?

4th locks the input and output shafts together. So without seeing inside it sounds like the input bearing went and the input shaft is moving around.

I tried looking at advance and I couldn't find a replacement input shaft. Am I searching wrong?
Daniel is coming over Friday I think to help me take a look:patriot:

upgrade to the steel input shaft. last longer and its just 30 bucks. summit and 50resto have them. idk if advance will.

Thats just the bearing retainer.... The input shaft itself is already steel.
