I ment to reply the other day but sorry ive been out of town in class. So i am confused, you was asking about the Bazooka but now your going with a much larger sub/box and going to install a amp too? Also what are you looking to spend towards a amp?

get an amp that'll support the "nominal (RMS) power not max power. nominal (RMS) power is what it will be running at ALL the time. MAX power is only for the first few minutes of amp warm up. just like a car, heat kills power. thats why all amps and subs are rated both @ MAX power and RMS power outputs.

Ok cool, well its a very hard thing to explain but long story short you get what you pay for. Different companys rate the amps different as well as what the amp will do at different ohm loads. Some amps were the best of the best and then the companys changed hands and they went to crap (Rockford Fosgate is a good example of this). It also depends on what you want to do with your stereo and what you will listen to. Just find some stuff that looks like you want and throw it on here and we can go from there. As for what brand well thats like what kind of car you drive, everyone has different likes that just depends. Im very fond of PPI but thats what i use to compete with. Hope we can help ya.

The Memphis mono 1000 does look like a good amp and it will run as low as 1 Ohm I like the specs for sure. The Sony stuff will smoke too easy, you will toast that amp just looking at it stay away from sony.

so the local shop said 100 to build a box to fit since i have the rear seat delete don't have much room. and 65 to install everything. even warranty the speaker and amp if bought from them and they are competitive with internet pricing. that sound ok?

yes sir i have a memphis 1000 D. D basically means comp amp. they beat HARD and i promise you will not be disappointed. they are well worth what you pay for them. my 1000 D has been in three car accidents and fell 9 foot from ceiling to floor on concrete and is still going strong! go for it

thats a good price just keep this n mind you go wit tha memphis you dont need to go ported or bandpass or youll blow the hello out of that sub you need to go sealed. ported wouldnt sound that great in a hatch youll hear a lot of air and band pass to me is made for a cheap sub and amp. a sealed takes more power to push tha sub then ported takes a lil less power and like i said a bandpass takes lil power to push. wit tha info u have so far all of it should help u decide.
