paint stripper+pressure washer if used right but why would you want to take it to bear metal?

I can't say for sure with out seeing it up close but I wouldn't take it down to bear metal unless you absolutely had to. You expose the metal to a lot of contaminants that will give you trouble later on.
sand it, block it, prime it, repeat!!!

DONT USE CHEMICAL STRIPPER. huge mess. can cause you windshield to leak among other things. I'd just pull moldings. and go crazy with a DA and like 80. then 180 then 220. then prime and block. be careful with that roof however.

Soda blasting is your best option. A friend of mine does it here in Spartanburg, SC and you would be amazed with the end results.

i had to take the top half of my 95 down to the metal. lots of DA work but it finally got there. i also had a buddy that had his car sandblasted and the blasters covered it with epoxy primer as soon as it was stripped, turned out pretty good.

We used aircraft stripper on the 68 and then epoxy primed it. Didn't have any problems with it other than the mess it makes. It was a hell of alot faster than sanding it. There was 8 coats of paint/primer on the car.

if you are going to chemical strip, the RIGHT way to do it is to tape all seams and glass plastic, rubber to the body using foil tape and foil paper. this keeps stripper out of door jambs and off plastic. stripper can eat up the urathane in your winshield. get n your door jambs on tires wheels weather stripping whatever. you can get a good job out of it, just have to put a lot of time into it
