You get what you pay for.
I'll leave it at that
I bought one of those and it is a good looking kit. Mine came with all stainless steel headers and other parts but I dont know if it works good it should be done in a couple weeks and I will try to let you know but if it works as good as it looks it will be wicked or at least I hope:lol1:

The better question is will they last?
Stainless steel WILL crack in time. Why BG and PonyDown kits are mild steel.
Chinese turbos may work fine for a while. Friend made 500+ rwhp with one...but will it last like a Turbonetics or Precision? Doubt it...

no problem, yea... id love to have a bigger place FOR SURE!!!... CRAMPED doesnt even begin to describe it!!!
maybe in a few years.
But anyways... from what ive seen, the E-bay turbo kit are ok for what you pay... BUT its almost worth it just getting a single B&G kit basic an having something that bolts right up an has a warranty with it an tons of customer service help!
The E-bay kit you dont get ANY of that an you better have a good welder b/c its NOT a bolt right up kit!!!... there IS some Fab work involved so as long as you know that going into it an want to take on the task of fabing trial an error till you get it then its the way to go I GUESS. :lol1:

I'd never go with the e-bay turbo kits because a lot of them are china made stuff. They may work for a short period and the next thing you know, you'll be rebuilding your engine. I'd pay the extra dough and go with a reputable product and then get a good tune.

The disadvantage of turbocharging is 1. lag and 2. exhaust restriction(from the turbine wheel in the exhaust). Depending on the turbocharger turbine and compressor wheel size will affect power, lag, and efficiency. If a turbo is too big like you see on ricer dyno queens, the car would make a lot of power at the high rpm but would be impractical to drive on the street because a geo metro would beat it in the 1/8th mile. (LAG) If the turbo was too small then it would spool up and die off so quick, it would be pointless. You would have to google compressor maps and read up about them. Corky Bell has a book called Maximum Boost. This is a great read.
Advantages are turbochargers are cheaper and more resourceful. They make tons of torque and the power comes on hard. You can adjust the boost with a mechanical or electrical controller. When you go turbo, you may not want to use a blower anymore.
According to my math, a T61, T64, T66, T68-1, T70, TO4B 60-1 and 62-1 compressor wheels will be good for a 302 with an afr of 12.5:1 and an intercooler psi drop of 1.7 psi. The GT8582R 82mm 56 trim 0.70 A/R looks good too. The math was as if a stock 302 put down 450 hp with min boost at 3000 and max boost at 3800 rpm. Boost was between 7-20 psi. Ported heads and bigger exhaust would affect the boost but cfm would be the same.

I didnt realize how cheap the BG Turbo kits were. Those are pretty practical and seem to be of good quality... Hmmm... A new present for the 85???
