proform stuff is total crap fyi. i have read where they fail under normal operating conditions. so guy started his car up and one of them fell apart. spend the extra money on ford racing or comp stuff. could of sworn someone had pedestal rockers for sale on here

X-cam is not a good choice for stock bottom end builds.

Notching the pistons isn't to bad, just time consuming. Helped a friend do some a couple weeks ago.

na its not hard but like u said its time consuming, i have done 2 sets now, grant it's nice when the motor is out of the car but i was only that lucky once. The tool from isky makes this job very easy.

if you want an alphabet cam id say the F-cam with 1.7 rockers is going to be about as big as you can go with stock pistons. even with a stock ported intake manifold you wont flow enough, its going to be a big bottleneck
i had a stock polished cobra intake manifold,70mm tb, 19lb injectors, stock meter, e-cam, 1.7 rockers, ported e7's on a stock bottom end and it made 280whp on a stock un tuned computer.

im not really sure..most will reccomend valve springs for any aftemarket cam...its just good insurance you wont bind, break a rocker and drop a valve.

x2. pretty much any aftermarket cam need some decent valve springs. the cam will perform better and keep from floating the valves prematurely or even break one.

they are fine for the specs of a stock cam. but depending on the lift, ramp rate and base circle of the cam you are using you may actually lose pwer or destroy your motor with the wrong springs.

not true..it all depends on the cam specs. you can get away with about .540 lift and mild duration with the stock heads and pistons and close to the same with twited wedge heads with 2.02/1.60 valves. but each motor is different, so you need to check PTV cleanance
