Tire size ?????????????????

I just got a 90' 5.0 LX hatch with ten holes on it.

I've got a set of 16" Ponies I'm going to put on it.

What I need is some tire sizes.

I think the factory size for the Ponies is 225/55/16 but I think I read that the fronts will rub on a 90' and a 225/50/16 is suggested. This isn't the most common tire size out there and there are other sizes close to this and a lot cheaper.

215/60/16 are easy to find and fairly cheap but how do they size up.

What are my options and what are your recommendations ?

id run a 215/55/16 in the front and a 235/55/16 out back. thats what i had on my pony's and the car looked good

On the rear run 255/50/16 Mickey Thompson Drag radial and front either 245/50 or 255/45 if you like wide front tires, or a 225/50 for a lower profile, and not as wide.


Here is picture of a friends car, and it had the 255/50 MT drags and 245/50 Nitto up front.

i got pony's on my gt and i got 245/50/16's all the way around. looks good to me.

Yeah my buddy, Blue Oval, has 215/60s and he doesn't like them either.

I have 225/55/16 up front and 255/50/16 in the rear, bfg G-force sports and i love the way it looks with my chrome ponys, of course wider is better and i will be upgrading wheels soon, but thats what i have now.

What about rotating the tires, you just go side to side ?
