Went to the newly redone Greer Dragway......and even though I made just two passes.....it is the best track I've been on....smooth, no dips or anything.
1st pass
R/T .1250
60ft 2.244
ET 9.8456
MPH 71.04
2nd pass
R/T .0097
60ft 2.410
ET 10.0781
MPH 70.57
I know these times aren't the fastest or quickest around here, but here is the mod list as follows
Air silencer gone/fenderwell intake
Flowmaster 2 chambers dumped at rear axle
3.73 gears and new clutch packs
4 cylinder springs front and rear
Timing bumped a bit and MSD copy coil
So basically she's still a stock automatic car which is driven 250-300 miles weekly and is on some crappy street tires.......so from going from 10.5-10.6's to 9.8's with nothing more than a gear change I am estatic!!!
Next up is some changes to the AOD, subframe connectors and rear UCA/LCA's..then i can move into the engine area :evilyes: :thumbsup1:

All in time......and for the record...did you think a 3200 lb stock aod trans stock suspension car is going to 60ft in under 2.xx?? :dunno:

I had my Dad's chevy malibu down there today and set a new best for the car. It went 6.70@ 101.8 with a crazy 1.45 sixty foot. I know it's not a mustang but the new track is absolutely amazing.

Oh sure it will. Get some 26x10.5 ET Streets, throttle body, ported lower intake and some 1.7RR and she will be right.

Not under, but say 2.08-2.20 yeah with a gear. Was it spinning any?
Congrats on the new personal best though. It's always a feeling of accomplishment no matter what you're racing or the times. :thumbsup1:

No it wasn't the white one. It was the black one with the blower and 2 carbs sticking up through the hood.

We are working on that....and then some. Who knows, maybe even a MAF conversion

It spun out of the hole both times. Since I am running 215-60-15's and haven't seen any big improvement by doing a burnout with these tires....I just drove around the water box and staged. The 2nd run the Falcon that was supposed to run with me started leaking so I had to wait while they backed her off the line and cleaned the mess......so nothing like sitting in the lane for longer than you thought....cut a heck of a light but one of the worst 60's as they just spun at first then just drove down the track.....felt like I was on the interstate.
The best 60' ever I have had was a 2.23......perhaps the trans upgrades and maybe some stickier tires would help a bunch. Looking at some converters from 2200-2600 stall. Good thing is Christmas and associated holidays are past us for now....so I can get back to working/modding/upgrading my car.....:thumbsup1:
Thanks guys!

Sounds like a plan, need to get some sticky tires first. Or all I will be doing is spinning.

What was your timing set @
14 degrees. I am sure with a couple small changes it could be in the 9.7-9.6 range.......but then again I have a few parts to install on it that will definitely get it faster..............:yes1:
