ok guys ive decided to go with a turbo set up on the 306 im building
thing is..i have very limited knowledge on what brands and such are good
ive heard B&g is excellent...and fairly priced
and heard a few mention pony down
im looking for around 550hp when this is all said and done...with the driveability of a DD
something that is fairly priced...but not cheaply made
any feedback or possible combination suggestions is greatly appreciated

Well it was a stage 2 kit but i had to send the headers back because i decided to go with a different set of heads and the ports were to big for the flanges. So i sent them back and had a new set custom built for my specs in about two weeks. The setup is a dart block 331c.i., it has a set of detroit speed shop worked pro topline heads, a custom solid roller camshaft, and it is a blowthrough carb. The carb is from csu. There are several pics in the project threads about two or three weeks ago. If you have any questions just let me or turbocoupe on here know, we are in this car together. Also we had to add some pipe were the mass air sensor would have been because we went carbed.

If you have any fabrication skills or tools you could build your own hot side and cold side. You can order bends from most of the big parts dealers. If you don't weld you could mock it all up and mark it and have someone weld it. Might get you out a littlecheaper and you can do it your way!

Thats true, but with the price of basic kits dropping the way they are, its cheaper to just buy a set.

this was my original idea
but being a "beginner" id like to purchase a kit that i know will work
and ease my way into the fabrication with maybe building a kit after i get some more experience in that field under my belt

Man I think the Pony Down hotside is less than $700.00. It's hard to beat for that kind of price.

I've got a B&G kit on my 94 Gt. I bought the car from a guy and he had the kit installed by a shop. I've read of a lot of people installing kits with minor modifications during install. I send you some numbers on my kit.
