You will need to get the Ford Motorsport headers because these are the only ones that will fit good with the heads and give you the right clearance for the spark plugs and the wires. I got mine on ebay last year for a $125.00 and they are ceramic coated. I heard that almost all long tube headers will work but that is just hearsay. Hope this helps.:thumbsup1:

Do you mean you got GT40P heads and you need headers?

If that is the case you can do one of three things.

1. Buy GT40P headers. They cost more than regular headers.
2. Buy regular headers and dent a couple of the exhaust tubes. ( I wouldn't).
3. Buy regular headers and also buy one spark plug adaptor for the #8 cylinder. This is what my brother in law did and it works great. He uses BBK headers and put the sparkplug cable on this adaptor that will swivel so it doesn't touch the header. On a stock block, stock bore with a cobra intake and GT40P heads with only 10deg timing it made 270 rwhp on a mustang dynometer (they read less than a dynojet). It makes more with more timing but we had it set for a nitrous run so the timing was backed off. With the timing up it makes right at 290 to 300 rwhp.

I will get you the name of the adaptor.

A valve job can actually hurt the flow of GT40P heads. There is allot of info on using G40P heads over on stangnet. You will most likely max out at around 300. After that you will have to start using bigger heads, bore and stroke, or a power adder.

I have bbk longtubes on my gt40p's. The only mods we had to do was change the plug wire ends & cut down a cheap plug socket to tighten a few of the plugs. Its not that bad of an ordeal to change plugs...just takes a few more minutes of screwin around with the socket to tighten a few plugs.

I have GT 40 P heads on my coupe- I bought a set of MAC shorties (they fit great- no exhaust leaks) and like Fox Rod said I adapted the spark plug wires and my husband made a socket to fit in between the heads and headers- it can be a little more of a pain to change them but nothing major- I have had good sucess out of the heads- and I have them paired with an "E" cam. If you need any more help about the heads shoot me a pm we'll talk. ROBIN
