i have a coupe with 306 and lots of mods, however the bottom end is stock with arp bolts in the rods, heads and forged pistons. i have after market fuel rails, regulator, 30# injectors and a 255 intake pump. i was wondering if i could run a 200 shot of juice with a progressive controller with this set up. i plan on getting it tuned. im going to use the flip chip. one tune for motor. one for a 100 shot and one with a 200 shot. what all would i need to do to make the 200 possible. thanks

200 should be the limit IMO,
with the tune it should be a good power adder.
I would start at 150 and then get a feel for it. G/L
Most people run 175-200 on a stock short block, a very few more.

Make sure you run the right heat range plug. Most of these kits say they will handle a 200 shot, but it's different for each manufacturer. Some are flywheel and others are rear wheel. You will need a -4 feed line on the nitrous from the solenoid to the nozzle. Be safe on the timing and you should live.

I would use a plate kit and not a nozzle.the nozzle kits are not to good after 150.

+1 i would start at 150 also......i was running a 125 shot on my old motor which was stock with bolt ons and wow what a difference that made!....im running a 4 bank chip with a switch so i can keep a hot tune when NA, make sure u run the right plugs and gap them at .35 and of course u no to have a good window switch.......thats what bit me mine was faulty Good Luck!:thumbsup1:

Why not tune for 100, and a 150 shot and start out with the 100 shot.
You need some way to make sure your bottle pressure is around 950 psi. Pressure too high or too low is not the best. I think you need a fuel pressure cut-off switch. Depending on if the kit is going in a coupe you don't need a blow off valve vented outside the car. If it's in a hatchaback to pass tech, with someone that's checks, you need a blow off valve vented outside the car. I know a bunch of people use a 200 shot on a stock bottom end and have no problems. Also if you decide to use the 200 shot I would definately use some higher than 93 octane gas..

I run a 150 Dry kit
My Shortblock is a 1995 Completely stock bottom end ( No Gurdle )
My car makes 336 HP / 343 TQ RWHP ( Motor ) H / C / I
Motor makes 455 HP / 570 TQ RWHP ( SMACK )
I am using a Diablo CMR flip chip
I leave @ 1050 Psi ( Bottle Pressure )
Run the correct plug,And make sure it is tuned ( SAFE )
If you want the motor to last i would not go more then a 200 Shot.
If you money burning a hole in your pocket,And time on your hands = Hit it with a 300 Shot,It will go a few times for sure,Or more,Or less :lol1::lol1:

We've had around 250 on a stock short block and it held up good.

You wouldnt believe me if I told you.
I only SPLIT ONE block.. and it was with 150 shot. The fuel line going to the solenoid wasnt flowing.
The first one that broke was because a harland sharp rocker cam apart.
How much did you have on your 347's to barely get in the 8's? :taunt:

I couldnt have said it better myself......:thumbsup1:
I have seen a 250hp shot on a stock bottom end and my buddy ran it for years and never broke.... He only went through one set of head gaskets in 3 yrs and they raced every Thursday night and on the weekends.. He eventually gave up on trying to blow the motor and put a bigger engine in it...
But I wouldnt reccomend this big of a shot or even a 200hp shot to begin with... Go for a 150hp shot and adjust accordingly....My 2 cents....
