Im looking at purchasing the stage 2 ponydown kit and the only thing that has me wondering on this kit is it says i will have to remove my front sway bar and trim the mounts for the sway?! so that means ill be riding around in a fast as hell coupe that handles like a golf cart on ice? lol but yeah i have the QA1 struts and stuff and i really really put alot of focus on my suspension and now i have to go around with one of the main ingredients? someone please give me more info on this kit. Just dont feel right without the steeda upp front lol

Front sway bar??? Whats that??? One of the first things to come off of my cars......and If you not planning on hanging a turn at 90mph,there should be no worries in removing it

Look at B&G I think theirs does not have you take the sway bar off.

I am with you... my sway bar stays on because there are more things to do than go fast in a straight line. Now if its a drag car then take it off!!!

I hadn't heard that about Ponydown kits. Brian at bgturbokits designed one of the kits that Ponydown sells. On the BG kits you don't have to remove the sway bar or cut the mounts.

Fast50 you are correct but Pony downs kit is actually B&G's old setup and jig. Both are great guys and both have great service records.

Well my kit does not require the swaybar to be removed or cut, and it is the base BG kit.

I have the B&G Kit as well, like they said Brian, helped Jeff get his setup going. On mine I didn't have to remove the swaybar, but the drivers side
swaybar hanger did have to be trimmed, and it was hella tight with my
high pressure line from the P/S pump.
With it massaged with a grinder it has approx .012" clearance. The motor torques the other way, so under throttle it gains clearance.

Mine didn't require any triming but it is that close to the powersteering line, it hasn't caused any problems. I talked to a few people that have the kit and they said the same thing.

I have solid motor mounts so my motor doesn't move at all, it feels like a car with poly bushings.

I'm running Energy Suspension's Motor mounts. Before the car was driven I used some heatwrap around that header(plus its HP Coated). I just wanted cheap insurance against p/s fluids low flash point, and fluid doesn't do so well if it boils.

I have been watching mine but my under hood temps and using a infrared temp probe is showing that everything under my hood is the same temp it was before the turbo. I don't have mine coated nor am I using any exhaust wrap. I did put a turbo balnket on because of it being close to the alternator.

Are you running a cowl hood?

fast50

No a stock hood. I checked my powersteering line and it is a half inch from the header.

I didn't mean everything is exactly the same temps I meant the overall temp is almost exactly the same as it was before. Some items very close to the header or downpipe have gotten hotter but nothing critical.

So what kit would i need to look at that i wont have to remove the sway? and what can i do to get a little more clearance on the ps pump line or shouldl i just get solid mm

I will not recomend a kit because one of the site sponsers might get mad. I can only tell you what I have seen and learned while I researched my kit before I bought it, the Hellion and BG kits do not require you to remove the swaybar. I am sure there are other kits that will not make you remove it but I don't know for sure what they are.

Have you called Ponydown? That might have a kit that can keep the swaybar if that is the kit you want.

As far as clearance is concerned, you can run a FMS A/C eliminator kit like I did on mine. The condensor lines came out right at the turbo, and the accumulator was in the way of the downpipe, so I yanked my A/C off anyway.

The bg kit does keep the swaybar.

i dont think i want to go that route i want to keep AC because this is a DD

dorton

It can be done, but would probably require some bending, or custom lines
for the condensor, and relocation of the accumulator.

fast50

I kept AC with my BG kit. Everything fit fine.

Did you have to move the condensor lines, or accumulator?

Know this is an old post but...

I have a B+G kit with a Precision T70 P trim @ 14psi on pump gas,no meth injection or anything.

Stock bottom end with 78K miles
GT40 Y303 alum heads home ported some
Lunati 51014 cam (.530/.540,218/226 dur @.050,112 lobe) with 1.7 rockers
Holley Systemax intake,70mm tb,PMAS 3" blowthrough maf
60lb injectors
GSS340 intank pump 255lph,GSL392 255 lph inline pump,Vortech fuel rails
3 1/2" downpipe to custom made 2 1/2 Y to connect to the catback
Pypes Violator catback 2 1/2

Made 584 rwhp/529rwtq Sure it'll make more torque next time as a small exhaust leak seems to hurt the low rpm spool time.
