Alright, so I posted this in the Newb section. Now I am going to try here. Looking to re-locate to South Carolina. Have not been in about 8 years. What are the best places to live? I am a Project Manager for a big company here and looking to find same there. Any suggestions?

you in? - automotive? Plenty of industry in G'ville, Columbia and Charleston. Research who you good with - many companies are moving shop to Messico and having lay-offs. Some here and in Savannah if you're into the coastal deal.

Like Joel said, Plenty of Industry here in the Greenville Anderson and Spartanburg Counties. I saw where you said you would be in Piedmont in a few weeks, that is mid way between Anderson & Greenville, also where I live.:thumbsup1:
Look me or 93fakesnake up when you get in town. Guess us an idea of what type of industry you are wanting, and we will let you know what around here.
Greenville & Anderson have lots of good restaurants and nite life spots along with plenty of shopping. Schools around are not too bad either if you have kids.
But I love it here in Greenville Co. From my house i'm within an hour to three 1/8 drag strips and two 1/4 mile tracks now. I'm 45 mins to from the Mountains, two hours from Atlanta and Columbia, little over one hour from Asheville and Charlotte. Winters here are not bad. Maybe one or two ice stroms, hardly ever any snow:sad1:,and summers are great!!:thumbsup1:
If you need anything or have questions shoot me a PM and i'll try to answer them for you.

I am in the Healthcare Industry, been in it for the last 12 years. I would not mind getting out of it, but there is good money in it right now. I have done a search on Monster for Project Management, but not much showing up. I have plenty of Warehousing and Logistics experience from previous jobs. I would like to stay in the Project Management rehlm if I can. I have kids, one of which in in my avatar. LOL. I know with the economy and money right now it may not be the best time to look for a new job, but we want to see what is there. BTW, thanks bonesgt!

Yeah, we have a a building in Charlotte. Wife is really wanting to go to S.C. though. At this point I would go to N.C. just to get out of here, lol.

There are some very nice areas just south of the Charlotte, NC boarder in SC. Many people live in SC, and drive into Charlotte to work. All depends on where the wife wants to live in SC.:yes1:

That is good to know. She really has her heart set on Charleston. I just don't think we are going to find jobs in that area..... There is a few prospects but it is just a waiting game right now, until we visit the area's. I guess what I really need insight to is the business area's? i.e. the business parks, like in Charlotte. We both make good money and we would like to keep the same salaries, but I know the cost of living is different.

is a cool place to be - might look at Goose Creek or Summerville. Not a far drive into downtown. It's a port city, so logistics is there. **** fun on the week-ends. Savannah has the same port situation and they are planning on opening-up one on the SC side of the Savannah river. VW is supposed to build a plant in charleston soon. Funny pic - kid looks like he needs a major time-out!

Do you have any knowledge with Gang Violence? If so, you can move to the West Side of Spartanburg and help me take over the city. If not, Stay away..........far away!!!!!

Nah, no time out for him that was just his "serious" looks.

if you are wanting into the health care business down this way, we have several large hospital systems... one of which just opened up a huge new facility in the greer area...
Greenville Hospital System, AnMed (Anderson's better known system), Spartanburg Regional, St. Francis and Mary Black are the biggest ones I can think of right now. I am sure we have more in the area but these I have dealt with in my lifetime. Have to give my vote for the best to Spartanburg Regional tho..... anyway, best of luck with the move and job hunt stuff:thumbsup1:

Thanks for the insight. I may look into that for a buyer position. Or, maybe Materials Manager. We might be able to find something after all.

If ours keeps running-us out of parts, we may be looking for one! He's killing us! Pretty simple concept: parts=production.

not bad - fuel prices last month hurt us and Ford's power stroke sales have taken a dive. We supply many manufacturers of trucks/tractors. We're also about to expand for some new products.

Do you know if they are needing any Analyst's? I am pretty sure they would be used for logistics purposes.

our plant has your basic positions - not a big facility. We're a Lean facility and don't even have sexretaries.

Sexretaries - nope, most plants I've worked-in had nothing you'd be seen out in public with. Had had some offers from some non-wholesome redneck chicks. Really try not to swim in the company pool. The black girls here are straight-up about what they'd love to do to you after work or around the corner.

LOL, yeah, no swimming for me. Man most chicks wanna be paid first, too. Can't do (you) the work and then get paid. :dunno:
