burning oil

i believe i may be burning a little bit of oil. im going to do a compression test sun. how would i be able to tell if its the rings or the valves?

if its the rings pull the oil cap off. There will be air coming out of it. If its valve's the air will be coming out either the intake or the exhuast. But you will need to make sure that both the valves are closed.
