I got a 3" exhaust on the svo now and I can't get the connection between the turbo elbow and downpipe to seal up. anyone know if there is a gasket that goes there? any ideas on how to get it to seal? I've moved every way I can and it still leaks

No gasket on my T3 in the garage. Try some Red/Copper high temp silicone, it works wonders on my buddies longtubes.

it won't burn off? I will give it a try. I've got to stop the **** thing from smoking too. I think the oil return line is slightly kinked. you will definitely be able to hear it at the track now. full 3" downpipe onto a 3" dynomax bullet. no restriction at all. :)

Can I get in on this?
86 svo 3" exhaust and a header is the only thing that is done to it right now.
We just had lknspeed port a head and unshrouded the vavles. Have a cam coming for it, also have a t4/t3 going on it with a front mount with in the next month or two.

Thats fine. Me and Embler met up at Piedmont one day when his car was pretty stock and my car was having traction issues on D/R and we were running about the same times. So him with more power, me with some traction, it will be a good race.

This car has never been to the track. Going to try and get a base line with it before we do all the upgrades.
O I forget we are running 12-14psi. The owner doesn't want to turn it up any more than that right now.

seems to be doing good. smoking like hell right now. I think I may have the oil return line kinked some. gonna pull it all off next weekend and move the center section a little closer to the block. it pulls pretty hard.

sure, I'd love to run another svo. did lknspeed do a good job on the head? I talked to him about doing a head for me. just want some feedback on the work. only mods I have now is a t3 (had an ihi on it when I got it), big front mount, ranger roller, cone filter and now full 3" exhaust. looking to get a header or bobs log, ported intake and maybe some head work in the near future. me and silver usually run at piedmont.

Yes he done a hell of a job on it. I will try and get some pic's of it for you tomarrow.
The svo Im talking about has a ihi on it now. I think his is going to run the racer walsh 3a cam in this car with the ported head, front mount, and 65 mm tb. The guy he bought the car from gave him a xs performance t3/t4 with the car.

lol, my svo had an ihi on it also when I got it. the previous owner put in a complete motor out of an '88 turbocoupe. I've heard bad things about anything racer walsh but I don't have any personal experience with their stuff. I had an xs power blowoff valve and threw it in the trash. hope their turbos are better. I'm not knocking anything you have, please don't take that wrong, just giving my personal views. yes, please send me some pics of the head. the front mount will help a lot, mine did. what size is it? be nice to check out another svo. what color is it?

Never heard anything bad about the racer walsh stuff. The t3/t4 he got with the car was just rebuilt. The guy he bought the car from works at the turbo exchange in concord. So we will see how it does.

I would also conside removing both components and putting the flanges on a belt sander to make sure they are 100% true. Gaskets or Silicone are only as good as the mating surfaces they are trying to seal.

good advice. I'm gonna take it all off and hit it with the sander then. thanks

You could also bend the flange a little bit on the exhuast pipe. I had to do that before.
