View Full Version : quad-shocks
Have you guys experienced any negative impacts from removing the quad-shocks? I'm going to try and squeeze a pair of 275/60/15s under the GT tomorrow and they are going to have to go. She'll be running wide and skinny draglites and will be for once a month driving and a occasional track day.

You will get wheel hop with them gone. You can always flip them around like I did. I'm running 275/40/17s with no problems.

You can remove them, you will defently get some wheel hop, unless you run some better control arms.....

Flip them around? Are you talking about reversing the way they are bolted on?

I have never had a problem with my quad shocks removed and I have always had my stock control arms. It might be because my big ass keeps the car from wheel hopping, just a guess.

I've got Hotchkis upper and lower control arms....do I need the quads?

With the Aftermarket Arms you should be fine. Just make sure that when you remove them, you also remove the brackets or you will have a hole in your tire.

I don't know why they'd be in the way to beGIN with, with that size tire (?) I've got the 275's too and left 'em on with no problemo.

275/60/15's and they are slammed right up against the tire.

i know mines an 04 but i had to flip mine for the 315's to go on... if you've got stock control arms it'll wrap and twist like a *****... flip them and see if it doesnt rub.. mine would rub in corners with them in stock position so i flipped them and now its ok.... stock tailpipes rub tho :(
Quads + stock control arms = ehh, ok
no quads + stock control arms = hippity hop like the **** easter bunny
quads + aftermarket LCA's = pointless to have quads
no quads + aftermarket LCA's = hookity hook like a hooker :)

Thanks! Since I have aftermarket CA's, i'm going to try and remove the quads and see how she does.
