I need some advise for a clutch selection. Im leaning towards the spec stage 3, but didnt know how driveable it is. I would like to stay with a single disk for financial purposes. Just curious to see what people have or are running in a high (600 ftlb) torque single disk setup. Not gonna be a drag car just a red light racer, or backroad burner.

the stage 3 drives very nice...we put one in a sn95 that put 520 hp and 620 tq to the ground....the TKO 600 is not happy, but the clutch has not had any issues

Never had a minutes trouble out of the old SPEC stage 3 clutch I have.

Since 03' it's been behind...

A n/a 357 with 378 rwhp

A s/c 357 with 628 rwhp

A s/c 302 with 521 rwhp

A turbo 302 with 584 rwhp

Now it's living it's golden years in my wifes pretty stock 98 gt.

Not the easiest clutch to slip as it likes to be let on out. But I can't argue with what I've got out of it at all. :D

Well thats good to hear, I figured it would but didnt know since it had the puck design and specs website says "aggressive engagement"

The Stage 3 is a very good clutch. From what I have seen and fealt from installing and driving them myself, I would suggest the Stage 3 Plus for your needs. Much mre streetable due to the full face.

I am a SPEC Distributor if you need.

Did you use a billet steel flywheel or aluminum?

I always had it on billet steel wheels except on my wifes gt. One the stock resurfaced one on it.

For your Motor needs I would suggest Aluminum.

So no great advantage to the aluminum other than the revving? Im needing a 28oz 157 tooth fliywheel too....Im pretty sure. The 73 model 351 block is externally 28oz right?

Weight savings and allows the engine to rev easier.

Do you have prices yet?

Not really just 350 for the clutch assy from spec and 100 for flywheel on latemodel.

Might be a good thing to get a trans breaking clutch, would be a good excuse for a magnum t56 swap! Always thinkin ahead! "But honey, I wasnt even gettin on it!"

ive been very happy with my RAM clutches... but its just been the organic HD clutch behind a much milder motor.
