Rack and pinion

im puttin a new rack in my cuz it needs inner tie rods and the car is 21years old so why not replace it. I called my local auto parts store and said they make 2 different ones one has ford gears and the other trw gears how can i tell which 1 i have? I gave them some #'s i found on the back of it and he couldn't cross reference to anything.

When I did mine, I had to visually identify them. I'm going from memory, one has a line on the top & the other has the same line on the bottom. I believe the steering ratio's are different in them too. One is a lower ratio making the steering faster & more responsive.

Simple way for you and the parts store to tell what is needed. Count how many turns the Steering Wheel goes from Lock to Lock. There is either 2.5 or 3
