as of right now my 85 is carbed, small cam i believe stock unported heads. i bought the car the way it is, and havent had time to really tear it apart and check it all out. this is my daily for prob another year. im thinking about going to fi, just for the reliability factor. right now im just working on cosmetics a little at a time. but i cant stand sitting in my car to keep it running on freezing cold mornings. im sure i could trade someone off cl for a efi setup, and already have an electric fuel pump. any input on wether or not i should do this would be greatly appreciated. i just want my car to be a turn key, get in and roll kinda car at least for the next year. then i plan on building a 351 i have, which i planned on making it an efi motor as well with some cheap aluminum heads and cheap bolt ons. thanks guys.

I love the reliability of my efi. make sure you get all the parts when you do the swap including your o2 sensors, computer, and appropriate wiring harnes. may want to go with a 255 fuel pump and a nice regulator too. Good luck.

What carb is on the car now? Does it have a electric choke? If not, you could always put on a manual choke cable.

Do you have to keep your foot on the gas to keep it running, when first started up? If so, sounds like a manual choke carb. You could put on a manual choke cable like I posted above, start it up, and go back inside, until it's warmed up.

Yes it's a Holley 4160, hard to tell if the choke is grounded or not, in that pic.
Here is some reading info, it will help you out, and tells you how to set the choke up. If not just ask whatever question you have.:thumbsup1:

on my 306, i ran a holley double pumper and i could get in it on a morning of 18-19 degrees and pump the gas 2 times it would fire right up and idle with a 512 lift cam and all.i only had to sit with it for about 2 mins and i could leave it to warm up on it's on.i loved my carb set-up and wouldn't hessitate to go back.
