Yep, that's one sweet ride. I work beside HED, the one's who built and tuned the car. It's one of their customer's. The owner of HED, Pete Harrell, is one smart dude when it comes to Fords. Or anykind of engine for that matter.

The bottom end is stock. I believe they got a ring and bearing kit at Advance Auto and freshened it up. I think they even used the stock rod bolts. The owner of the car is John Brown and Kevin Mullins (HED employee) tuned the car. I think Pete did have some input on the tune but mostly Kevin's work. These guy's know what their doing. There are some real fast cars coming from this shop. This car has been some 5.80's in the 1/8th, not sure it they've been faster than that yet.

It has ARP rod bolts.

Car is running none the less.

I was thinking it still had the stock bolts. Maybe I was wrong. Pete had a thread in his forum on HPJ that had some pics of the bottom end after they had got done putting rings & bearings in it. I'll see if I can find the thread. Also, this power was made on race gas. On pump gas it would of let go from detonation. This car has many passes and dyno pulls on it, so it has been thrashed on quite a bit. A lot of the durability is in the tune. Very impressive none the less.

Just talked to Kevin & Pete. When the car came to them the bottom end was stock w/ ARP rod bolts. After racing it for awhile they pulled the engine to freshen and change the cam. The pistons were .030 down in the bore, so they knew the rods were bent. They posted up and found a stock set of rods and pistons out of a used motor which had stock rod bolts as well. So, the bottom end is all stock. Quite impressive indeed.

No doubt very impressive:yes1: a basic 333 stroker like mine built by this crew would most likely see well over a hundred thousand miles (street driven mainly)..........im hoping for lots of miles on mine only got about 4500 miles on mine............dam i love sayin that!

the heads are worked AFR's and the intake is a TFS box. the cam is a custom grind solid flat tappet. This car ran great and every thing claimed here is completely true.

It also made this power through a powerglide and Greg Slack converter. The tune is a major part of it staying together. Also race gas and plenty of it. You couldn't make this power on pump gas.

It looks like two stages of laughing gas to me. The puff of smoke about 60ft. out gives the first stage away. Just my opinion though. Either way the car runs very smooth!!:thumbsup1:

There wasn't any gas on the car, just a T76. I haven't talked to Pete & Kevin lately. Last I heard, the car was getting a 331 or 347 w/ a good block.
