I have an 85 gt t top car. I'm thinking about mad maxing it out. I have 17x9,17x10.5 black bullits, I'm thinking about doing a flat black with a crimson pinstripe and only the cowl section of my hood. And also getting the polished lip of my wheels powdercoated a crimson color. Any opinions are welcome. Also anybody know the cheapest place for weatherstrip or can I just use generic. All the stuff I've found are specific and outrageous. I pretty much need a full kit. Thanks again. Ill have a pic up soon

First off welcome to the site. Why not take a few moments and post up in the new members section, and tell us a little more about yourself and the 85.
Secondly, check with Tony at 1A Auto Parts for your weatherstripping. You can find them in our sponsor's section here.:thumbsup1:

Not my cup of tea, but if it is done nicely--then it will look great. Does that make sence? I looked in your album and you've got a good looking ride. I don't know about flat black, maybe a denim or satin would look killer. I bought my weatherstripping from 50resto.com and was very pleased with their products and service. Are you looking for t-top, door, dew wipes, window run chanel, and hatch weather stripping?

Yea pretty much everything ill need to replace while its getting sprayed. The pieces for the doors, the strip that runs across the top right behind the t tops, and prob t tops while I'm at it.I don't plan on painting the door jams. The car is very camera friendly. its my daily and I don't plan on putting a lot into it. Just kind of a low budget build. And I wasn't talking about a black primer or nothing, its paint just without clearcoat. I was just trying to get other peoples opinions. This is my first mustang that I'm actually fixing up. I'm coming from a minitruck/ rat rod background. Can't you use generic weatherstrip for the hatch and door to body weatherstrip?

I wish I could tell you more about weather stripping, I too bought from 50resto.com. I've never tried/heard anything about the generic stuff. I have seen flat black rat rods, and they look 100X better than a flat black mustang. IMO. anywho, welcome. what base are you stationed at? I'm down at Moody, GA.

I'm not active anymore. I was at huerlburt field. Fl. Man lol I thought I would have some fans of the flat black lol. And I was gonna go salleen hashs on the fenders instead of pinstripes. I guess I could do the opposite and do flat crimson saleen stripes and crimson cowl section of the hood. I just think the red lip on the wheels would look wicked.
